Epona is a commercial winery AND a licensed virtual retail wine shop.
Here is my business model for the wine shop: I attend trade tastings, and travel (the world) to taste at wineries, and continually research wines. I’m also constantly on the lookout for special wine sales, which can be amazing discounts. Then I email recommendations of my favorite wines to my customers. If they want to order, they do. There is never an obligation to order anything. They can order any number of bottles (as few as 1). I aggregate the orders and make one large wholesale purchase.
Because I don’t have a brick and mortar shop, or carry much inventory, I have very little overhead, so my prices are usually the best in town. The legal premises of Epona Wine are at my farm near Woodland, WA. Customers can pick up their wines in Woodland, or I deliver to certain locations in Vancouver, WA, and Portland, OR.
I also work with customers to provide wines within themes and budgets for events such as weddings, corporate happy hours, and fundraisers.
